Lay the pattern out on the floor, put an A4 sheet next to it and take a photo with your phone. Basteo corrects the perspective, finds the outline and sets the scale from the sheet. Tracing accuracy is about 1–2 %.
A cupboard full of paper patterns comes into the program in one afternoon, without a digitizer and without redrawing. Import also covers SVG, vector PDF (magazine patterns) and PLT/HPGL.
Planned: notches, grain direction and labels read from the photo, and several pieces in a single photo.
